POSITION TITLE: VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the President, ODIM Inc., the Vice President Finance will have overall responsibility for financial and fiscal management operations for ODIM group companies located in Peterborough, Ontario and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Will provide leadership in strategic business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the management of the financial groups at the ODIM group Companies, as well as all fiscal reporting activities and control functions of all group companies including reporting of financial information to ODIM ASA on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for ODIM Inc. ODIM ASA is a Norwegian publicly traded company)
- Participate in the development of new business and participate in negotiating contractual terms and conditions
- Direct the planning, organization and implementation of all business acquisitions including managing capital expenditures for real estate
- Design and implement accounting systems, policies and procedures to provide timely and accurate management information along with appropriate levels of internal control. Monitor revenues, expenses and cash flows generated by ODIM Inc. and all subsidiary companies
- Regular travel will be required to group companies and corporate parent. Will provide a quarterly report to the Board of Directors outlining any risks associated with the operating companies, and make recommendations to mitigate those risks
- Assure that group financing arrangements are in place for working capital as well as capital requirements. This includes, but not limited to, construction of new facility, required renovations, equipment purchases and real estate
- Liaise with individual group controllers and provide guidance and support as required
- Liaise with the company’s auditors to ensure that the financial statements of ODIM Inc. and all subsidiary companies are presented in a manner consistent with ODIM Group accounting policies and compliant with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Accounting Standards as appropriate.
- ODIM Inc., as an ISO 9001:2000 company, is constantly striving to improve processes. This position supports the implementation of techniques that will ensure continuous business improvements and ensures the accurate documentation of those processes. The VP is responsible for keeping the President and Sr. Management team apprised of all significant financial developments. To support this, the candidate will need to display a high confidence level in their presentation ability

QUALIFICATIONS:
- University Degree related to Finance. A Chartered Accountant designation is preferred, however, other recognized accounting designations will be considered
- Minimum five (5) years of senior financial operational and management experience within a medium to large company. Experience in strategic planning and execution, and Government Contracting experience is preferred
- Experience with foreign exchange including currency hedging
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions and working with multiple business units and geographies. Experience with joint ventures is an asset
- Experience interpreting and negotiating contractual agreements

- Strong analytical and negotiating skills
- Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking by understanding the business and anticipate/develop business priorities for future actions. The ability to be hands on when required
- Exceptional professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel and/or willingness to work a flexible schedule when required
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all company policies and procedures while carrying out duties
- A Level II (Secret) Security Clearance from Public Works and Government Services Canada, Industrial Security Services, will be required
