POSITION TITLE: PROJECT MANAGER

ODIM Spectrum has continued its success in capturing several international naval contracts. The successful candidate for this position will oversee the project life cycle of an electro-mechanical handling system for a variable depth sonar for to one of our customers.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Vice President, acts as the single point of contact for assigned company projects. Guides, manages and controls projects through the complete project life cycle. Develops and maintains project resource data, develops solutions to customer requirements and represents the assigned project both internally and externally. Responsible for cost, schedule and performance of project(s).


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Management and administration of assigned projects in accordance with company policies, procedures and tailored PMI processes, through all phases of the Project life-cycle including design, development, production, test, delivery, warranty and support
  2. Responsible for developing solutions that meet or exceed the customer’s requirements as stated in the contract, the technical specification, the statement of work, and the terms and conditions. Carefully monitors and controls requirement/contract changes, ensuring compliance and/or ECP initiation and execution as required
  3. Represents the single point of contact for assigned projects for both the company and the customer. Approves all deliverables for assigned projects
  4. Provides effective supervision of project staff and monitors performance
  5. Develops and maintains accurate project resource data including manpower, material, and schedules. Uses Earned Value Management techniques to track and manage progress
  6. Generates and maintains verification matrices as required to ensure company requirements are met and/or implemented
  7. Assists and supports new business development and proposal generation as required
  8. International travel, including time spent on site, to support assigned projects
  9. Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. University degree preferred. College diploma with relevant experience will be considered
  2. Broad technical background with a minimum of ten (10) years development and implementation experience required, preferably in the Defence and/or Aerospace industry
  3. Minimum five (5) years PM experience required, preferably in the Defence and/or Aerospace industry
  4. PMP or equivalent demonstrated PM process knowledge required
  5. Professional Engineer registration is preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  1. Proficient use in MS Office including MS Project, Word and Excel
  2. Familiarity with Corporate financial reporting and tracking systems
  3. Thorough understanding of the concepts of Systems Engineering and Project Management principles and processes
  4. Ability to effectively communicate in English through verbal and written communication
  5. Ability to effectively work with diverse cultures and business practices
  6. Team oriented Project team leader and manager
