POSITION TITLE: ENGINEER / SPECIALIST (MECHANICAL)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to Engineering Manager, this position will work as part of a team to design and manufacture mechanical systems. Will provide design support from initial design through manufacturing and commissioning/operation. Extensive field service is required.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform engineering analysis of mechanical systems
- Prepare technical specification and assembly/commissioning procedures
- Provide technical support and resolution for mechanical and engineering problems encountered during and after fabrication
- Work closely with all design staff and project managers to ensure all system requirements are met
- Extended periods of Field Service to support assigned projects is required
- Perform other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical Diploma with a minimum of three years experience is required. A Degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset
- Experience using classical analysis methods to solve engineering design problems is an asset
- Experience with a solid modeling package. SolidWorks experience is an asset
- Experience with the design of robust and economical mechanical systems. Familiarity with fabrication processes and machine shop capabilities is an asset
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in using computer hardware and software (i.e. CAD and MS Office applications)
- Knowledge of MIL-SPECs an asset
- Ability to problem solve and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate and establish/maintain effective relations
